ABOUT JIMMY
In the time that he was alive, my father lived to the absolute fullest. Always with a true sense of purpose. More than anything though, he lived and thrived within his creative headspace. His talents and abilities as a musician, songwriter and producer were nurtured by complete immersion into the creative process. No matter the moment, he would follow an idea to its fruition. He would utilize every skill that he possessed as an artist to do so each and every time. His actions made me understand that it takes a true commitment to your passion and to yourself if you wish to become the artist you envision yourself to be.

Beyond his artistry, he was as much a father and husband. There was no situation that he didn't know how to navigate through. There was only ever love, care and a true sense of knowing.
ABOUT THE ALBUM
Towards the end of the 1990s, in collaboration with drummer Robert Bach, Jimmy would come to write, produce and engineer a collection of songs that would make up his last completed studio album. These songs were inspired by moments of love, loss and struggle that we as humans can all relate to. Drawing parallels to the growth rings that form in trees, Permanent Wood represents my father's fullest realization and intention to live beyond the limitations of the physical self. Forever within music.

This album was originally completed in the year 2000 and released independently by Jimmy soon afterward. Through his passing in 2017 and the time that followed, my mother and I felt that these songs would see new life in the digital age. Something he would have always wanted. We hope you come to enjoy this album as much as we have over the years.
